In Familia's various clubs and workshops you can practice your language skills, get to know cuisines or experience new cultures. Art Your Story - Share and connect through art
"Art Your Story" is a club meant for everyone interested in art and culture. Each meeting has a different theme corresponding to a specific art form. In the meetings each participant will bring a piece of art that inspires them. You can share art from your own culture for example. The theme for the first meeting (6.4) is visual art. The themes for the next meetings will be decided in the first meeting. The club will meet on Zoom and meetings will be lead by Familia's volunteers in English. A Bite of china -workshop
Come celebrate United Nation's Chinese Language Day with Familia! On April 20th 2021, you are welcome to join our "A Bite of China" -workshop to get an introduction to Chinese culture and language. The workshop is open to anyone in Finland interested in learning about Chinese culture. In this workshop, you will learn about Chinese customs and culture as well as some basic language in a relaxed environment. You will also have the chance to meet people from all over Finland interested in Chinese culture. The workshop will be led by Familia's volunteer, Yuan Huang. The workshop will be held in English. The workshop will take place on Tuesday 20th April from 17-18:30 on Zoom. You will receive the Zoom link by email after registering. INTERNATIONAL POETRY GROUP
Come and learn about poems from around the world and workshop your own poetic & creative writing in a friendly & relaxed environment. The first hour of the workshop is dedicated to sharing poems from around the world and discussion. During the second hour you will have time to work on your own writing and get feedback on your work. Workshops will be led by Familia's volunter Kayleigh Töyrä. |
WHO CAN TAKE PART?
The activities are open to anyone looking to meet great people and learn new things. The activities are free of charge and primarily intended for Familia members. The annual membership fee is 20 euro for adults and 10 euro for children (under 16 years). If you are not yet a member, you are welcome to come and check out our activities and decide later whether you wish to join the association. Some of our events are also open to anyone who is interested.
HOW DO I SIGN UP? Advance registration is required for some of the clubs and groups. More information about registration is found next to each individual club or group description. WHERE? Unless otherwise stated, the events are held in the Familia premises. All groups meet at Familia’s premises in Sörnäinen, Lintulahdenkatu 10, Helsinki, which is also the departure point for excursions. Children are welcome to participate along with their parents. The excursions are made on foot or using public transportation (bus, tram or metro). All transportation fees are paid by the participants themselves. |
