NEXT DUO FAMILY TRAINING WORKSHOPS (ONLINE)
In the family workshop you will have an opportunity to meet other intercultural couples expecting a baby and are able to share your thoughts and experiences about intercultural parenthood and family life. The workshop is interactive, which means that instead of listening to a lecture, you get to share your thoughts with other couples and us. You and your partner will also get to reflect independently and work in small breakout groups. You will also get research- and experience-based information about intercultural family life as well as intercultural children's identity and bilingualism. |
Please note, that Duo Family Training is intended for intercultural families whose partners have been born in different countries. The family workshops are peer meetings and don't include birth training or information about how to take care of a newborn baby. |
DUO FAMILY TRAINING ONLINE COURSE
Duo's Self-study Family Training online course (in English) has been designed to offer an insight into the fascinating world of the intercultural couple and their journey into parenthood. The course includes a number of features that are designed to help couples through the process of having and raising children in an intercultural environment. Thematic articles are coupled with lecture videos, homework assignments, audio and video clips, quotes from intercultural families, discussion topics and bonus material in order to give the couples a rounded self-study course.
A number of topics that intercultural families have to deal with, such as combining different cultures, bi-/multilingualism and child’s language development will be discussed, as well as the very crux of the concept. The course will take into account expert opinion on the subject, as well as first-hand accounts and information from people who are parents of intercultural families themselves. The course is free and you can take part whenever and wherever you like. All you need is a computer, an internet connection and speakers. |
